Action on Dementia Sunderland is a voluntary organisation that was formed to provide support to people who have dementia, their families, carers and friends. We aim to raise awareness of the issues and needs around dementia and to promote increased access to support and information services for individuals with dementia and their families. We guarantee that all funds raised and donations received will be used to benefit people within the City of Sunderland.
GENTOO’S ONGOING SUPPORT
Over three years, Gentoo staff have raised £26,395 for our charity, as one of their two charities of the Year, through their fundraising activities in the firm’s offices and depots – have included coffee mornings and auctions, as well as a monthly payroll deduction scheme.
Nigel Wilson, Chief Executive at Gentoo Group, said “I am extremely proud of what we have achieved over the last three years for our charities and fundraising. Even when living and working in such uncertain circumstances, colleagues have been able to raise a phenomenal amount of money that will be of huge benefit to the charities. It’s been a privilege to support these vital local charities and we wish them all the best"
Ernie Thompson, our Chair, said we can’t thank the Gentoo Group and their staff enough for their exceptional support and generosity over the last three years.
